The NSW Police have recommended avoiding Windows for secure transactions, thanks HyRax1. Detective Inspector Bruce van der Graaf from the Computer Crime Investigation Unit told the hearing that he uses two rules to protect himself from cybercriminals when banking online. Kraft have realised that the name "iSnack 2.0" was, well, lame. So they're renamed the new cheesy Vegemite to Cheesybite. Kraft had picked iSnack 2.0 following a national naming competition which attracted more than 40,000 entries. But Australia's censorship board last month refused to give it the virtual zombie hunt classification at all, saying its high impact violence made it unsuitable for people under 18. Microsoft officials posted an advanced security bulletin today that confirms Windows XP will have 6 critical holes patched, Windows Vista 5 critical holes and Windows 7 only one. Microsoft's critical rating is the highest out of all definitions used by the company, described as "a vulnerability whose exploitation could allow the propagation of an Internet worm without user action."

A few people sent in this editorial about fighting for our right to download. Now I have the Beastie Boys in my head. Now I hope I'm not the only one who thinks that any law that renders the vast majority of the public criminal is just a little bit ridiculous. But surely there is a good reason for all this hype, right? The answer lies in exploring why we even have copyright. Discussion here.

AirQ sent in Hubblecast. Hubblecast features news and Images from the Hubble Space Telescope - We live in a Universe of unimaginable scale and almost incomprehensible beauty.
