From Graham: Well, maybe not news but worth while none the less. There is a fund called IT Fund for Kids (Can read about it here.) It's been around for a couple of years but only just heard about it. The money goes to the Starlight Foundation and Giant Steps. Just thought that considering many of us here are in the IT industry some might like to donate. Now I have done my part for humanity :)

LanAddict have an article about modifying Klipsch Promedia speakers to accept standard speaker wire.. apparently the fiddly stock connections are annoying.

MikhailTech have an editorial about FPS: Fact & Fiction.. how the brain, eyes and monitor work together.

TweakersAsylum updated their DetonatorXP Comparison to include the new 40.41 drivers.

zzzzz says: Nero 5.5.9.9 is out. As usual, you can use the download file to upgrade your version, or as a demo version if you do not currently own Nero. On a similar note, Worlock says: Roxio Easy CD Creator Platinum Update v5.3.1 is available. This web update is designed to update English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch and Japanese versions of Easy CD Creator 5.xx Platinum to version 5.3.1. It can be installed in All Windows Operating Systems. It has some fixes and adds new drive support, including support for DVD -R/RW and DVD +R/RW. This update will install Windows XP specific drivers and make the necessary registry entries to allow Easy CD Creator to operate correctly in Windows XP.

RipNet have a PC upgrade project article posted.

From PostModern: News from the OCAU Kitchens: The August bake-off has ended with many many excellent coronary-inducing recipes posted. The winners with 5 stars each were egarrad's "Bart's Chocolate Mousse Cake" here and HoldenAngel's "Wicked Chocolate Cake" here. September's Cook-off is "Five Minute Meals" here. Pop into the Geek Food Forum through the month for quick and delish recipe ideas. Post your favourite quicky and you too could end up with news page fame :)
