Apparently Australia isn't getting an Intel fab, despite a visit from Intel CEO Craig Barrett and talks with the Federal Govt. TheInq says it's because we don't spend enough on IT and because of our slow adoption of broadband, but suggests he was just sniffing around anyway. While he was in Sydney, he had some stuff to say about the IT industry in general.

Some good news from RedStar, with regards the insurance craziness going on in Australia and particularly NSW at the moment. Both the Daily Telegraph and the Sydney Morning Herald have stories indicating the Govt may be intervening to control the spiralling insurance premiums for public liability.
