Some new footage of the first moon walk has been uncovered and restored in Australia, thanks Sniper. The footage of mission commander Neil Armstrong descending the ladder of the lunar module will be shown at the Australian Geographic Society Awards next Wednesday, Australian Geographic said in a statement.
Quite a few people sent word that the millionare owner (but not inventor) of the Segway business has died after riding one off a cliff. Heselden made his fortune when his Leeds-based firm Hesco Bastion developed the "blast wall" basket, which protect soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq, as a replacement for traditional sandbags. Last year he led a British team which bought the US-based Segway firm that makes and distributes the distinctive two-wheeled self-balancing scooters.

The OpenOffice development community have today announced the launch of a new foundation – The Document Foundation – that will oversee, guide and develop a new fork of OpenOffice named ‘LibreOffice’. ... Oracle, whose acquisition of Sun Microsystems last year made it owner of OpenOffice.org’s assets and branding hence the renaming, are not yet a member of The Document Foundation although have been invited to join.

HotHardware have a gaming headset roundup. There are two ways to take advantage of the positional audio capabilities of most modern games. You can either get a set of nice speakers or some nice headphones. There are plenty of advantages and disadvantages to either option but for gaming we would argue that headphones, or a headset, is the way to go.
