A few people sent in pics of (what appears to be) a 4x Opteron motherboard. They were hosted on various home-directories out there and Geocities, so I've made local mirrors.. here and here. They're both large pics (>250kb) but it's certainly interesting! At first glance from the huge size and bizarre layout it seems to be a photoshopped fake image (like our earlier 8xSlotA mobo or even the Voodoo5-9000 video card).. but if it is, it's a pretty good one. Exciting stuff if it's real, aiming AMD squarely at the enterprise market. I bet the price tag will be pretty scary, though. The concensus here seems to be that it's fake. Time will tell, I guess.

Decker pointed out this WinXP Media Centre Edition.. WinXP for entertainment PC's.. interesting.

More Folding@Home linkage for us in The Bulletin, with forum-goer Tori Lee's writings appearing in their letters section.. thanks badg3r for pointing it out, and Tori for sending it in!

Brembo noticed this NSW Scanners website.. that lets you stream Police communications etc.

From Lando: Verbatim has unveiled the Digital Vinyl CD-R disc that will give baby boomers a blast from the past, and younger generations a glimpse at yesterday's popular vinyl record format. The new discs combine the look of a 45-rpm record with today's CD production technologies, but the look is as old fashioned as the discs get. Info here and here.

Cool secret-hiding screen from Alex.

Could OS X be coming to a PC near you..? Thanks MiGiSHu.

From Vindaloo: I found this new alpha version of ICQ, called "ICQ Lite". It's only a 1.7 meg download, and is a cut-down version of the latest ICQ release. However, you can still message people, upload and download contact lists, and use the handy ICQ SMS functions. It's all I use ICQ for, and the Lite version is quite slick. I recommend that you try it if you're pining for the early days of ICQ.

Seems there's no Google for China.. for their own good, of course, thanks McDaddy.

Timewasters: Rollercoaster and Monkey Jumping from fxr91, Conversion Kings from Mitchell.
