Google Cloud Connect for Microsoft Office is now available to early testers. Editing a document in Word? It’ll automatically sync to your Google Docs account each time you hit ‘Save’. Want to share a preview of your document without worrying about what file format your co-workers can open? Just send them a link to the Google Docs file.
Apple has released iOS 4.2 for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch owners. The update to Apple's mobile operating system brings more than 100 iOS 4 features to the iPad for the first time, including multitasking, app folders, unified inbox, Game Centre, and new features such as AirPlay and AirPrint. Apple iPad users running iOS 4.2 can also rent TV episodes directly from the iTunes Store.
Hardware Canucks take a look at NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 460 SE 1GB. When a new product is released, companies understandably want to make a pretty big fuss about it. Or at least, that’s what usually happens. Last week NVIDIA decided to very quietly launch a card called the GTX 460 SE and many didn’t find out that it was a bona-fide product until it popped up on board partners’ websites.
Meanwhile, HEXUS revisit NVIDIA's 3D Vision and see if it's now ready for prime time. In the days leading up to the launch of NVIDIA's crown jewel - the GeForce GTX 580 graphics card - I was able to revisit 3D Vision and put some of the latest titles to the test. My conclusion? 3D Vision might now be ready to finally deliver some of the wow factor it once sorely missed.
SilentPC have published a guide to help users build a silent and compact gaming system. Gaming PCs consume more energy, put out more heat, and run louder than mainstream machines. There isn't much we can do about the power and heat of high-end gear, but we can certainly help gamers build quiet system to fulfill their needs. Since they are typically louder to begin with, gaming systems have the most benefit from SPCR know-how.
Telstra and Ericsson have successfully conducted a high-quality video link-up between Sydney and Melbourne using Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. Telstra's executive director for networks and access technologies Mike Wright noted that it was the first inter-capital LTE connection in Australia. The throughput speeds achieved in the test were approximately 80 megabits per second (Mbps).
3DMark 11 is set to launch November 30th. Finnish software developer Futuremark has announced that its latest graphics card benchmark 3DMark 11 will launch officially on November 30th. The test suit will focus on loading the graphics card and will demand support for DirectX 11 and be available in three versions, Basic, Advanced and Professional.
