It's AMD's turn for a CPU announcement, with their Phenom II X4-840 and 975BE being unveiled. These quad-core CPUs aren't too revolutionary, just filling out the line a little, particularly at the top end - the 975BE is 3.6GHz. In a world of 6-core desktop CPUs and Intel's new Sandy Bridge they've got a lot to live up to.
