A couple of big tech news stories recently, with the first being AMD's CEO resigning - or was he pushed? However, the Board believes we have the opportunity to create increased shareholder value over time. This will require the company to have significant growth, establish market leadership and generate superior financial returns. We believe a change in leadership at this time will accelerate the company’s ability to accomplish these objectives. Discussion here.

The second surprise is that OCZ is exiting the RAM market, apparently to focus on SSDs, flash media and PSUs. More here, thanks Chris. Over OCZ's last nine fiscal quarters, revenues from its memory business have declined more than 71%. The company's SSD revenues have grown by nearly a factor of 20 over the same time span. OCZ raked in over $41 million in SSD revenues in its last quarter but generated only $6.3 million from its memory department. Discussion here.

Speaking of which, TomsHardware checked out the OCZ ReboDrive X2 PCIe SSD. The company’s new RevoDrive X2 steps thing up a notch, forsaking value altogether in the name of performance. Priced just north of $650 for 240 GB, you’re looking at a $100 premium over a quartet of 60 GB Vertex 2s. Does the price tag even matter once you’re in such a high-end niche of the storage market? A long look at performance will help answer that question.

They also compared some P67 motherboards. Improved per-clock performance and higher achievable frequencies are sure to put Intel’s latest K-Series CPUs on top of many builders’ whish lists, but they’ll still need a new socket to put it in. We test nine enthusiast-oriented LGA-1155 motherboards.

Intel have quite a clever YouTube ad for Sandy Bridge. To build excitement around the 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i5 processor, Intel is launching an action-adventure video titled "The Chase."
