Australia's Daniel Ricciardo will start his first F1 race next weekend at Silverstone. The move is part of collaboration deal signed on Thursday whereby HRT will support Red Bull Racing in Ricciardo’s “formation and development,” ahead of a potential race drive for the 21 year-old with one of Red Bull’s own teams next season. With Mark Webber now a podium regular, bonus points to anyone who can tell us the last time two Australians raced in F1 together?

NBN Co have kicked off the first satellite services. People living in select rural and remote areas can check if they are eligible for the satellite service through www.nbnco.com.au/satellite. Eligible customers can then take up a service from a participating ISP with no standard installation costs.

Robert Morris, one of the grandfathers of Unix, has passed away.
