The whole News Corp / Murdoch thing is top story everywhere at the moment, but one geeky aspect is that it seems to have brought Lulzsec out of retirement, attacking News International websites, including The Sun. There's an amusingly clueless video from Sky News, and meanwhile the FBI are raiding suspected Anonymous members in New York.

Corsair are recalling their Force 3 120GB SSDs. This is our fault, our production tests didn’t catch the issue before the drives were shipped to the consumer and we take full responsibility for our products, which is why we’re asking for them to be returned and will be picking up return shipping. More info here, discussion here.

Confusion reigns in the R18+ games rating battle, with South Australia scrapping MA15+ and NSW not voting in an upcoming meeting. According to recent studies, two-thirds of the Australian states and territories are publicly in favour of the R18+ introduction (including the controversial South Australian vote) - while the remaining three (NSW, Victoria and Western Australia) announced they would hold off on making a decision until some time closer to the meeting. Now, it seems that time has come, and while the Victorian and Western Australian ministers are keeping quiet, NSW Attorney-General Greg Smith has announced that he will not vote.

The SBS website was compromised with malware earlier this week. SBS is warning readers of its news website to run a virus scan on their computer following a "hacking attack".

Here's a cool Lego Grid Computing Farm. Like Tribbles, Legos seem to have an uncanny ability for multiplying in my house at an almost exponential rate. First, you build models, then it’s Star Wars, then it’s your phone, your jewelry. Before things are said and done you’ve got nooks, bins and chests full of them. I’ve been addicted to Legos for longer than I can remember, so when the opportunity comes up to work on a new project of some sort the question that invariably arises is, "Can I use Legos?"

Tweaktown have been playing with Llano memory, while Tech Report tried some 1866MHz memory with theirs. TechPowerUp meanwhile have a GPU performance analysis of the platform. AMD's new A-Series processors promise high performance integrated graphics that works well for productivity and gaming. In our article we take a closer look at 3D performance of the A8-3850 processor, test it in Dual Graphics mode and investigate the effect of memory clock, memory timings, UMA memory size and overclocking.

Russia has launched a new space telescope. The instrument, dubbed the "Russian Hubble" after the iconic US space telescope but many thousands of times more powerful, will give astronomers new opportunities for looking billions of light years back in time to the young universe and unlocking the mysteries of black holes.

JohnC and TonyR both sent in this quite amazing 3D printer video. 3D printing is a form of additive manufacturing technology where a three dimensional object is created by laying down successive layers of material. 3D printers are generally faster, more affordable and easier to use than other additive manufacturing technologies.

Ze sent word that a stormtrooper is walking across Australia to raise money for the Starlight Foundation. Starting in July 2011 I aim to walk from Perth (Western Australia) to Sydney (New South Wales). Over the course of the trek I will cross 4 states and cover approximately 5000km’s in modified stormtrooper armour. More info including donation details here, with official Facebook and Twitter pages.
