It's been a couple of months now since I reviewed the Everglide Large Attack Pad. This unit is very similar to that one so it's probably a good idea to read the other review before this one if you missed it. In short, my major issues with the previous unit were that it was too tall, too small in area and a little too smooth for my ball mouse. This new unit is obviously trying to address at least one of those issues, as it's much larger:

When you see them side by side the Giganta doesn't look much larger, but the rectangular shape gives you much more usable area. Gone was the feeling of mouse-claustrophobia I had with the Large Attack Pad. The units are the same height which, to my hand, feels a little overtall - I tend to rest my wrist on the table itself which means the joint is bent at an upward angle and there's a little pressure on the wrist where it sits on the table. This is not specific to the Everglide pads though, I did the same with my old cloth pad - the slightly taller Everglides make it a bit more pronounced. I suspect making them any thinner would induce a tendency to warp. This is not really a major complaint. Finally, the tendency of the ball mouse to skip during high speed movements seems to not be present anymore. The surfaces look a little different, more shiny and I think slightly larger craters. This may all be simply because the LAP is older and has had a little more use. Regardless, in Quake3 I was unable to reproduce the problem of unpredictable turning rate due to the mouse skipping, on EITHER mat. I can't find any info on whether or not Everglide actually changed the surface, but the problem the LAP had of skipping (perhaps only when new) does not seem to be present on this unit. Therefore, it comes highly recommended! Everything good from my review of the Large Attack Pad applies, and they seem to have fixed the major bad things. The Everglide Giganta is staying on my desktop indefinitely.
