This year's Folding@home Chimp Challenge starts at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16. With under a week to go, Monkey_Bollocks is already getting some points as people start to change over to our challenge name early, so we're already off to a running start. All folders, past and present, and interested newcomers are encouraged to start using the challenge name as this is one of the scoring parts of this challenge!
Monkey_Bollocks is approximately 24 million points away from the 100 million milestone, and if we get enough people behind the chimp name we should break that milestone this year whilst the challenge is on! The challenge runs for 10 days, which would mean that 2.4 million points per day are needed to break this milestone. Our team average is currently around 3.1 million points per day, and it would be awesome to see Monkey_Bollocks pass 100 million points!
If you are interested in helping out and would like to know more about folding, or if you have folded in the past and need a refresher, pop into the Distributed Computing forum here at OCAU, or the #team24 IRC channel (on oz.org), and ask as many questions as you like so you can help the team. The Folding PC wiki has also been updated recently if you are interested in what makes a great computer and folding box!
