OCZ have been in trouble for a while, but they have finally filed for bankruptcy now. Apparently Toshiba have put in an offer for their assets. The Company has received an offer from Toshiba Corporation to acquire substantially all of the Company's assets in a bankruptcy proceeding. The parties have substantially completed negotiations on an asset purchase agreement and OCZ believes that all the material terms have been agreed to. Ouch - a UK man has thrown out a hard drive, forgetting it had 7,500 bitcoins on it. Buried somewhere under four feet of mud and rubbish, in the Docksway landfill site near Newport, Wales, in a space about the size of a football pitch is a computer hard drive worth more than 4m. It belonged to James Howells, who threw it out when he was clearing up his desk in mid-summer and discovered the part, rescued from a defunct Dell laptop. He found it in a drawer and put it in a bin.

Some spacey stuff from BlueRaven: Awesome photo of supernova cloud and high-emission "star factory" nebula in the same shot of the Large Magellanic Cloud. Also some cool timewasters in the form of interactive solar system and comet ISON trajectory models. Lots of options to play with. Nice music too. Links posted in the General Astronomy/Space thread.
