All the best to those caught up in the Sydney seige at the moment. Here's hoping it's resolved as peacefully as possible.

Telstra and NBNco have a new deal regarding the existing copper and fibre assets. Telstra will hand over ownership of its copper and hybrid fibre-coaxial networks while remaining committed to its structural separation under renegotiated definitive agreements with NBN Co that retain the $11 billion value of the 2011 deal. Telstra and Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull today announced the re-signing of the landmark deal, which will see NBN Co continue to pay Telstra $5 billion in infrastructure payments, $4 billion in disconnection payments and $2 billion in Commonwealth agreements. More info here and here, and a video from Mr Turnbull here. NBN discussion continues here.

SimCity2000 is now free for a limited time. Origin required, of course. Now you can design any city you can imagine and SimCity 2000 will bring it, and its resident Sims, to life. It has all the features, flexibility, art, animation, and power you need to create an environment of your dreams. Man, I lost a LOT of time to that back in the early 2000s..
