An original working Apple-1 computer has sold at auction for $375k. The auction took place in Boston, Massachusetts, on Tuesday. The buyer was an "anonymous businessman" who placed his bid online. It is estimated that Mr Wozniak and Mr Jobs sold around 200 Apple-I computers in just under a year, thanks to a deal with a local computing store in Palo Alto, California. According to an online registry - not affiliated with Apple - there are just 79 of the computers still around.

NBN have doubled the bandwidth of a Sydney backbone. Australia's National Broadband Network (NBN) company has announced doubling the capacity on its fibre-optic transit network to 19.2Tbps per fibre link in response to increasing traffic and demand.

The Government are still determined to pass the encryption bill as soon as possible. The government late last week introduced the bill into the House of Representatives, just 10 days after closing a public consultation on an exposure draft of the proposed legislation. A number of measures in the bill will increase police access to data on electronic devices and services including expanding the system of covert computer access warrants, which are currently available only to ASIO.
