Retro Gaming July 2022 (1 Comments) (link)
 Sunday, 3-July-2022  15:38:01 (GMT +10) - by Agg

This month's "Retro Let's Play" is Donkey Kong from 1981, and many other versions. Come with me while I take you on the short journey of the genesis of my video game love affair. Earlier on yes, Space Invaders and others had certainly caught my eye, but once I laid eyes on that brown timber Donkey Kong arcade machine it was 'game over'. From 1982 onward I thought of two things and two things only, Sharon Kirby and Donkey Kong (and not always in that order). Now I don't know where Sharon is today, but Donkey Kong has stayed with me this whole time.

Meanwhile this month's "Retro Racing" game is Diddy Kong Racing from 1997 on the N64. Diddy Kong Racing is a 1997 racing video game developed and published by Rare for the Nintendo 64. The game is set on Timber's Island and revolves around Diddy Kong and his friends' attempt to defeat the intergalactic antagonist, a wizarding pig named Wizpig, through winning a series of races. The player can take control of any of the featured characters throughout the game. Diddy Kong Racing features five worlds with four racetracks each, and the ability to drive a car, hovercraft, or pilot an aeroplane.
