With PCI-E boards now becoming commonplace, the price of decent PCI/AGP boards has plummeted. For someone who needs to build a good box that can be a cheap gaming box for the next 3-5 years with limited upgrades (ie: everything bar the video card), or even a good mid-range server, cheap PCI/AGP boards are a good way to go without compromising on quality.
