| Another way to increase N97 GPS signal strength is as follows:
Instead of using copper wire coil, use a copper tape and stick it to the underside of the antenna tape. Then stick thin rubber or foam piece(s) on the plastic (just below the antenna tape). The purpose of this rubber or foam is to create gap between the antenna tape and the plastic (actually is the hardware/grounding below the plastic). With the created gap, the RF signal pattern will not be greatly diminished by the close proximity to the hardware/grounding. The result is better GPS signal strengths. Cheers! |
