The current record was achieved in an attempt to beat the previous attempt of 1059 people. BBQ went down for about an hour or so, and then the record was achieved at 9:23PM (GMT+10). The alterior motive for this record attempt was to test the new addition of MySQL Replication that Agg put in.

Current record: Most users ever online was 2,076, Today at 5:20 AM.

The current record was set when a forum thread was linked on Slashdot, resulting in a massive spike in guest users.

Records:

  • 2076 - 27th August 2009 - Gigs' Concrete Slab Watercooling hit the front page of Slashdot, a week after we moved to the new servers.
  • 1495 - 11th January 2009 - Rainwulf's Project Monolith linked on Engadget
  • 1188 - 14th October 2008 - Again nothing in particular, people reported Whirlpool slow, perhaps that helped.
  • 1165 - 1st September 2008 - Another one due to gradual growth and forum guests
  • 1147 - 11th August 2008 - This one just happened without any organising, not sure why :)
