Forum Thread

OCAU has an active and collegiate group of iRacers, who you'll find discussing the sim here. Its a good place to drop by and find out what categories are popular and when people are finding races in the local timezones. There's some fairly experienced hands there who can also help you with wallet-emptying hardware decisions.

Forum Group

There is also a forum group which can be used to help with organising race meets or for general chat which would otherwise fill up the dedicated thread: The OC.AU iRacer Stable (iRacers)

iRacers on OCAU

Feel free to add them to your myracers list and dont forget to say gday before you wreck them out at Daytona!

Finding races with Statmonkey

A very valuable tool when it comes to deciding which series to race (and therefore which content to purchase) is what is known as statmonkey. Clicking on the "View by week" button will bring up a series of graphs. Each graph represents a series in iRacing and the columns represent the number of racers that participated in that race. Essentially - the more columns you see, the more races take place in that category.

For example, Skip Barber and the NVIDIA Cup enjoy very strong participation with plenty of official races - whereas the Sprint Car Cup has very few official races each week and almost none in evenings (Australian time).

G25 Gearbox Repairs

If your G25 H-Pattern shifter is giving you troubles then it's probably caused by a reasonably common fault. Referencing Chillicoke's great tutorial, Optimus adds some valuable alternative thoughts on the process here.
