Back to Mac OS and Mac Hardware

You can use the following PC Hardware on a New Mac's

  • Hard Disks
    • IDE
    • SCSI
    • SATA

Notes
If using an older (old world mac) you might have to do the following

Partition your HardDisk for installation of OSX, as OSX will only install and boot from a partition within the 1st 8gig. (similar to older PC hardware limitations on booting)

Some Older Macs will only recognise Hard disks sizes up to 128gig

Earlier Macs will only initialize certain brands / models of HardDisks....there is however some work arounds for this problem
