Physically, UGBox is a server in Brisbane that does all sorts of wonderful stuff. It is paid for by a group of OCAU devotees who decided to purchase a server back in 2002, primarily to provide free services to the OCAU community.
The main service of UGBox is also the first that was launched - the Image Store. The Image Store allows any OCAU member to upload images which can then be linked in posts in the OCAU forums. The Image Store provides the user with the forum code to let them insert the image (including a thumbnail) into a post.
Other UGBox services include hosting for the people behind it, a Trade Maker (to easily make posts in the For Sale forum), an IRC quotes database, and a smilies database.
