Married , 35 years

Does your significant other, assuming you have one, support your F@H activities?

Yes, she pays the electric bill :)

Congratulations on being chosen the Iron Folder for the month. How does it feel to be chosen by your peers for such a prestigious award?

The recognition is fun because unless you are on a subteam like OLDsniper it is one of the few times someone outside your own household will appreciate the effort you make.

Why do you think you were chosen?

Our continuous effort over the last couple years.

Why do you participate in Folding?

Cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease are the 2 most likely ways to die in my family. I’d like to think that my contribution to FAH will eventually help change that.

If Folding could find a cure for just one disease tomorrow, which one would it be and why?

As above

What would you like Team 24, to know about you, that might surprise them?

Before joining Team 24 I folded 4.8 million points on other teams including [H]ardOCP where I was RPhArrow.

Where do you see your folding activities in the next year or two?

Goal #1 is 100 million points, Goal #2 is to get GOM in our rearview mirror :)

Have you been successful borging? If so, what kind of borging worked for you? (For example, friends, family, and/or work?)

I borged (w/permission) a few computers that I built for family/friends, but those computers got moved around and as a result my last result for [H]ardOCP posted just last year ! I have no idea whose computer that came from….

Any ideas on improving the DC subforum, or suggestions or improvements for our Team?

The recent efforts by RETARD, Leroyxx, mitsimonta, GOM, and others have been great for the team spirit – let’s keep it going.

What challenges have you faced in your F@H efforts?

Justifying and explaining to my spouse the costs of hardware & electricity.

How much do you spend on F@H? If you consider equipment, electricity, and other activities that support F@H... how much of your life has DC’ing consumed?

Folding easily consumes about 80% of my non-work life !

Do you have friends, family, or neighbors that know about your F@H activities? What do they think?

They all know, but most of them don’t realize the effort & time I put into it. Their eyes start to glaze over when I start to explain, lol !

Do you game? If so, how long and what types do you prefer? Consoles or PC?

Casual PC gaming. Now I’m always on the lookout for simple, fun webgames that don’t take away folding resources.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Thanks to Sniper and everyone else at OCAU for making me feel at home with Team 24.

On behalf of Team 24, I thank you as well for your contributions to this team and I thank you for your time to talk about it. Keep on folding!
