What is the meaning or significance of your OCAU username, if any?

Back in the late seventies(?) there was a band called Devo. One of the refrains from their songs was...”Are we not men?....No!!! We are Devo!!” At the time I was a motorcycling fool. And when it looked like “me and the boys” had bitten off more than we could chew,and were about to get our asses handed back to us, I would often rally the troops by crying “Are we not men?!!NO!!!...We are DEVOS!!!!” At first I was greeted by perplexed faces, but eventually the message got across that we are what we are and this is where we are at and SO BE IT! Let’s have at it! and the troops rallied for the unavoidable. Of course they gave me the moniker of “devo”. As I got more and more into the internet, sites would ask me for an id, so I naturally gave them my devo id and became devoid. But wherever I went, devo or devoid were taken, so I chose devoid001 reluctantly.

Congratulations on being chosen the Iron Folder for the month. How does it feel to be chosen by your peers for such a prestigious award?

Strange to be accepted thus, but then they can’t see what they are dealing with so I forgive them.

Why do you think you were chosen?

Verbosity and me!..me!!..ME!

Why do you participate in Folding?

Kerist! When I started it was because someone has to do the boring stuff for the greater good. Now, God knows, my family could use the break from any outcomes.

If Folding could find a cure for just one disease tomorrow, which one would it be and why?

Dementia. I’m resigned to it being hereditary.

What would you like Team 24, to know about you, that might surprise them?

I think Misti was genuinely surprised to find that,on the demise of one of our members, I actually gave a crap

Where do you see your folding activities in the next year or two?

Iffy. But will try to soldier on.

What challenges have you faced in your F@H efforts?

Financial and time

How much do you spend on F@H? If you consider equipment, electricity, and other activities that support F@H... how much of your life has DC’ing consumed?

Too much. Power is over a grand a quarter. To make improvement or replace failed components I’m selling off parts of my prized (sniff) motorcycles

Do you have friends, family, or neighbors that know about your F@H activities? What do they think?

That I’m an idiot to waste money thus, but they don’t say that to my face

Do you game? If so, how long and what types do you prefer? Consoles or PC?

PC (sigh) but can’t if I’m folding which takes priority
