Here is a list of server's frequented by OCAU and their current rules.

EA Play

  • The servers are a relaxed atmosphere for EAPlayers to enjoy. There are few rules. They are:
    • Excessive teamkilling, or excessive offensive language will get you a warning.
    • Continued teamkilling, or excessive offensive language, will result in a kick and ban -at admins discretion.
    • Stats padding is a permanent ban.
    • The [Terms Of Service] agreement also form part of the server rules.

  • The following rules apply to all Gamespace BF2 Servers. These rules are in addition to the present [Gamespace Terms and Conditions].
    • Exploits/Cheating
      • Cheating is strictly prohibited across all Gamespace servers; players caught using hacks and/or cheating will be permanently banned, network-wide.
      • Stat exploiting is forbidden. A first offence will result 1 week ban, any subsequent offences will result in a permanent ban.
    • Behaviour
      • No forms of racism, harassment, abuse or vilification will be tolerated.
    • Clan tags
      • Intentional wearing of other clan's tags without their permission or tag stealing is not accepted.
      • Offensive names are not permitted.
    • Do not engage in disruptive play, a few examples are -
      • Text spamming
      • Repetitive voting
      • The deliberate blocking of team-mates
      • Destroying friendly assets
      • Intentional team killing/contributing to being teamkilled. (ie jumping in front of vehicles)
      • No Base camping of uncappable bases (large red circle with a line through the centre) unless all other flags are capped. We encourage sportsmanship in this situation, so as to allow the opposition time to regroup.
    • Battlefield 2 Voip
      • Respect fellow players. This means no swearing, harassment, racism, sexual remarks, spamming or anything else that can be deemed offensive.
    • Admins
      • Gamespace admins are to be treated with respect and any form of abuse/harassment will be dealt with severely. An admin can be recognised by the [GS] tag. Any player impersonating an admin will be punished.

IGN Rules

IGN Battlefield 2 Rules - Updated 3rd January 2006

    • Spawn Camping
      • On some maps there are uncappable flags. These flags cannot be captured and are indicated on your map by a large red circle with a line through the center. These rules apply to the immediate base area around these flags. Anything outside of this is fair game.
      • Players may engage the opposition at an uncapable flag with their kit weapons only. The use of aircraft or vehicles is not permitted.
      • Aircraft may engage ground based Anti-Air weapons within an uncapable base - This includes ground and vehicle mounted AA. Failure to move out of the uncapable spawn after the AA has been destroyed will be considered spawn camping.
      • A plane, or chopper, that has returned to the airspace above its uncapable flag is not protected under the spawn camping rule
    • Disruptive Play
      • Players found to be disrupting fair play will receive a ban.
      • Disruptive play includes but is not limited to: Continual Commander mutiny voting, and blocking runways in armour for the sole purpose of destroying vehicles.
      • Disruptive play will be at the sole discretion and judgement of the administrators.
    • Sportsmanship
      • If the uncapable base is the sole flag held sportsmanship is expected to be displayed and the base should be left alone to allow the other team to regroup in peace.
      • "Stat farming" (eg. Kill/reviving) may be judged as bad sportsmanship by an Admin if it impedes play. Offenders will be removed from the server.
      • Lack of sportsmanship may be considered Disruptive play.
    • Team Attacking
      • Deliberately shooting another teammate on a FF server is against the rules.
      • The deliberate destruction of a team mates vehicle or aircraft is a banable offence. This includes shooting planes and tanks as they appear at spawn and also if you are not going to reach the vehicle before another player.
      • Placing yourself in a position that leaves no alternative for a team mate other than to TK is a banable offence. This includes, but is not limited to, deliberately placing yourself in front of, or on top of, a friendly vehicle.
    • Names
      • Names must contain a minimum of 3 alpha-numeric characters
      • Names must NOT contain abusive language, or derogatory comments.
      • Names must not be coloured other than default or contain characters that alter the name in any way.
    • Stats Harvesting
      • Stats harvesting is disruptive and is unfair on people who are trying to play in the spirit that the game was originally designed for. EA have endorsed the banning of all players caught harvesting.
      • Players must not participate in any action not in the spirit of the game for the sole purpose of gaining stats.
    • Some General rules
      • Be polite, wait your turn, offer rides, support your team mates.
      • No offensive names or insulting and harassing other players.
      • No exploiting game or map glitches and bugs.
      • No spamming text messages or senselessly flooding the chat in any way.
      • No deliberately blocking team mates movement in any way (i.e. Stopping in the middle of bridges etc.)
      • No camping for planes or vehicles.
      • No stealing, attacking, moving or destroying team mates vehicles.
      • No using vehicles as a "taxis" to get to planes or helicopters. Walk or sprint.
      • No team swapping during the middle of a round with the intent of being on the winning team.
    • Ban lengths for rule breakers
      • Sportsmanship: kick to 2 weeks
      • Tking and disruptive behaviour: 2 weeks to 3 months
      • Offensive behaviour: Up to 2 weeks
      • Stats harvesting: Permanent ban (Will not be lifted, ever).
      • Cheating: Permanent ban (Will not be lifted, ever).
      • Racism: Permanent ban (Will not be lifted, ever).
      • Note: Ban lengths will vary depending on the severity of the offence and repeat offenders can expect their bans to increase in length each time.
