A monitor allows a computer user to view data from the computer visually. It is an important feature in computers today, and allows for things such as: documents to be seen while being created; viewing of movies and playing of computer games.
A newer monitor typically consists of a TFT LCD, with most older monitors based around a cathode ray tube (CRT).
