An optical drive is a device that allows you to read and write onto an optical medium. Mostly CD's or DVD's.

Optical Storage Still in Development

  • HVD (Holographic Versatile Disc) - Predicted next generation after HD-DVD/BD-ROM (can hold upto 3.9TB).
