- Battle.net operates very much like Valve's Steam software to act as both a form of digital distribution as well as management for all Blizzard games. Once you purchase your copy of Starcraft 2 and activate it on your battle.net account it will be locked to this account indefinitely. Visit the Official battle.net website for more details.
