So, there's an ad in the form of Jean-Claude Van Damme doing the splits with his legs resting on two trucks driving backwards. And another ad of cute kid in a Darth Vader outfit using "special powers" to unlock car doors. Don't forget that group of adorable babies dancing with adult versions of themselves - And somehow, these are some of the most effective advertisements. In the case of the new Van Damme ad, which has nearly 7.7 million YouTube views, the publicity will not only aid the overarching Volvo brand, but it could also sell more trucks, says Mediapost.com advertising columnist Barbara Lippert.

Bad news for Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones lovers - Or, at least, those who download it off the internet. Stargazers and doomsayers alike, rejoice! Comet ISON was discovered by amateur astronomers in Russia and Belarus in September last year. It will pass just 1.2 million km from the sun on November 29, and will pass even closer to earth on the 26th of the month. That's next Tuesday. 3. In the third scenario, which scientists really don't want because it would spoil all their fun, the comet is pulled into the sun. This is called a sun grazer, and pretty much means a harmless death for the comet. But the news is not all dull, because that would result in one seriously large explosion. Indeed, this could be the largest explosion ever observed by mankind, Astro Dave says.

Photographer Romain Veillon recently travelled to the deserts of Namibia, where he photographed the abandoned village of Kolmanskop - especially the parts that are slowly being consumed by waves of sand. Check out the photos here.

Looks like Apple may be dabbling in the 3D market, after having paid US$345 million for PrimeSense's 3D sensing technology. PrimeSense is perhaps best known as the company behind the technology that enabled Microsoft's Xbox Kinect. The sensing technology allows the game console to view a scene in three dimensions, so players can control a game using their body and physical movements.
