An article at a german site claims to have deciphered the information sent to Microsoft when you connect to Windows Update. Apparently, information about all the software and hardware installed on your PC can be sent to Microsoft. Not just Microsoft software, any software.

Digit-Life have had a look at some high-end video cards. Well, one high-end and one not so. The Wildcat VP560 & Wildcat VP970 3D accelerators.

Toms Hardware have thrown a P4 CPU at a VapoChill and set their sights on 800Mhz FSB. Did they get there? Read it and find out. Thanks Daniel

Sudhian review the MSI Metis 266 Small Form Factor PC. I can't get enough of these little machines. I want one.

I don't usually recommend opening up a perfectly good hard drive as personal experience has shown that they often tend to die shortly afterward. In this case, 000patto000 (yes, I spelt that right) has gone about it in the right way and put a window and an LED in his drive. The results look great.

For those who might not have been aware. Overclocking your PDA will void your warranty. From PsyKo Billy.

There is an article over at Whirlpool telling us that ISP iGreen Communications has been placed under administration at the request of Optus. Could this be the beginning of the end for iGreen? Link from Peter.

Iroquois notes that Sun Microsystems will be using Athlon XP-M processors in their Blade Servers. Read more here. Also from Iroquois, some screenshots of Microsoft Office 2003 Beta 2, and Roxio are planning to open a legitimate Napster service this year. Now that will be exciting!

The people at Digital-Daily have put the Athlon Barton and XP cores head to head. I was a little surprised at some of the results from this. The budget CPUs seem to be a bargain yet the high-end chips seem overpriced. Although thats looking at things from an overclockers perspective only.

Forum regular Falkor, has all the details for an OCAU Sydney BBQ & Cruise on the 23rd of March. Have a look in this thread for more info. This would be a good chance to get together with some of your like minded OCAU'ers for a meet 'n greet. The cruise sounds nice as well. :)

China and the U.S., Canada, the European Union, Japan and the Russian Federation are getting together to build a Fusion Reactor. The dream of cheap and virtually unlimited electricity has moved a step closer, a little step at least. Thanks Greg.

"Tennis balls. We import 14 million of them each year, but no one seems to know where they go". I know where a lot of mine have gone. I've lost count of how many I've sent down into the depths of the roadside drainage system. Tennis Victoria are going to try to answer the missing tennis ball mystery.

GForce, Quatro, Parhelia, Radeon, etc... They don't match up to the La Video Loca Bitchin' Fast 3D2000. It's a chop job so don't get to excited.

Febs found todays flash time-waster. A rather good rendition of Donkey Kong.
