Solano @ HardOCP (0 Comments) (link)
 Thursday, 22-June-2000  21:14:44 (GMT +10) - by Agg

Kyle over at HardOCP has put up a review of the Intel i815E "Solano" chipset, by way of the Abit SE6. Much to everyone's surprise, the i815 follows in the footsteps of the i810 and i820 and hence pretty much blows hot salty chunks performance-wise:

Again we see the i815E get "embarrassed" by the BX and only come into basically a tie with the VIA 133A. Are you thinking what I am thinking by now? Why did Intel even go to the trouble of developing a new chipset. Hell, they probably could have saved money by giving away a free vid and sound card with every BX chipset they sell.

Oh dear. Full review and screenshot frenzy here.
