NFS Extreme have a guide to using copper shims.. hmm, they put thermal paste on the cpu top, and on the shim.. but the shim is not involved in thermal transfer, so why does it need paste? This came up in chat a little while ago, and wasn't really resolved - join the discussion here: Shims - thermal paste or no?.. let's get to the bottom of this. :)
