The PC Database was officially opened today - the beta is over, things seem to be going well in there. 330+ entries already. I have announced it to the other sites so we should see how our server copes with a bit of database load over the next few days. I predict it won't even notice it, like everything else I throw at it. :)

Speaking of the PCDB, some cool new entries recently - Xaagone's fully rack-mounted LAN-day system here, a very tidy gloss black tower with window and neon from Puffmosis here and Ogier's ducted BP6 system here. Old-timers will remember Ogier's system was in one of the first reader-submitted things we put up on this site, over a year ago..

Blood-Eye points out this interesting article on ZDNet UK. It's about a new NVIDIA GPU that is supposedly 7x faster than.. something. Hard to work out exactly what they're on about in that article, if it's the NV15 that's faster than the NV20, or vice versa, or some unnamed chip that's faster than both. Maybe it's just someone trying to inflate NVIDIA's stock a little more.

The ever-modest Tech-Gods have an Intel CPU Roundup happening.

InsaneHardware have some info on their front page about A7V's not handling high-speed Athlons well. I should be able to check this tomorrow when my A7V arrives and I fire up my 1.1GHz Tbird on it. :)

This looks like it could be big news - From BZD: Bari soldered 27, 100nF SMD capacitators onto his C566. The cpu runs @ 1064MHz stable. (before the job only 1034). An other dude soldered his CPU too, his C600 runs @ 1200. (1288 with a big TEC). Pics here, page is in Hungarian. Brave stuff.

ProCooling have a copper waterblock project.

The usual crazy stuff on ZZZ Online..
