FoderMe says a date and venue has been set for the third annual melbourne bbq. Sunday the 23rd by the banks of the yarra across the river from rod laver arena. If you're in Brisbane, Ambush says Oryp Cainam is hosting an OCAU BBQ at his house this coming Saturday 08 Jan. Brave man!

XAJIM sent word of a fake AMD CPU report on Xbit. A report over Sin Chew Daily web-site claims the local police had discovered a workshop that remarked microprocessors made by Advanced Micro Devices to sell them at higher price-points.

Apple have beefed up their Xserve G5 rackmounted servers. The PowerPC G5 processors come with more than 35 gigaflops of processing power per system and a front side 1U server system bus, running at up to 1.15 GHz and providing up to 9.2 GBps of bandwidth per processor and up to three 400GB drives, achieving 1.2TB of hot-plug storage.

The two Mars rovers are celebrating the first anniversary of their arrival on the red planet. I can picture them now, doing donuts in the martian soil and exchanging robotic-arm high-fives.
