Tuesday Evening (0 Comments) (link)
 Tuesday, 12-March-2002  23:28:11 (GMT +10) - by Manaz

There's quite a bit of news tonight (lots of reviews), so rather than dilly-dallying around, I'll get straight into it.

First up, Issue 120 of ZZZ Online is out.

Next, for all those of you who thought the story (and photos) of the tug boat "sliding" under the bridge were false/fake/made up, apparently it's true.

Morgan thought that those of you in the Sutherland area of Sydney (or those willing to travel to Sutherland) may be interested in knowing that SutherLAN is coming up.

If you're using a Via based motherboard and Windows XP, and have experienced what has become known as the "Infinite Loop" or "NV Loop" error, Nigel thought this link would prove useful to you.

Thanks to OzEight for this one. If you are in Australia, and suffer from poor Internet connectivity due to "pair gain" telephone lines (you'll know it if you do), then this online survey being run by Senator Kate Lundy (Shadow Minister Assisting on Information Technology), may eventually lead to something being done about it.

The Tech Report have had a look at a couple of DVD/CD-RW drives - that write to DVDs as well, albeit in different formats.

PC Paradox is giving away a blank engineering planar for an upcoming EPoX dual Athlon motherboard. If that's the sort of thing that interests you, go enter (it's a "post in our forums" competition, but registration isn't required).

Digit-Life has posted a roundup of nine i845D motherboards, the second part of their GeForce4 MX 440 Video Cards Roundup, and their February Hardware Digest.

Offtopic stuff:
Eric sent in news of a page which lets you build virtual robots in Shockwave Flash.
Yahoo Serious is apparently suing Yahoo! (is he, dare I say it, serious?) - thanks to jobbers for that link.
All you wanted to know on navel fluff/lint (can you ever know enough?), courtesy of Falkor.
Ever wanted to own a pub or brewery? If so, would a virtual pub/brewery suffice? Cheers to Anthony for that link.
And finally, from Wokket, news that beer and chips (crisps) are good for your figure.
