Fun with Portals and Physics

From there I found the site fun-motion.com, which is a blog about physics-based games. I'm interested in knowing how people feel about this whole Physics Acceleration thing, which has become quite a buzzword lately. PhysX cards are here and soon we'll see GPU-powered physics acceleration from NVIDIA and ATI (recent info here and here). But, to be honest, I'm finding it hard to get excited about the technology and I don't really see what it can bring to the gaming experience that can't be provided by a fast CPU and GPU.
