Well it must be that time of the week again as Telstra is to be investigated again by the competition regulator and the Australian Communications Authority over its use of pair gain technology. "The ACCC and ACA want to hear from members of the public who ordered a new phone line from Telstra specifically for data or internet, and then discovered that Telstra had failed to advise them their internet connection speed would be limited as a result of pair gain. The ACCC is also investigating Telstra's use of RIM technology in cases where customers may have had limited access to certain services such as ADSL. Senator Kate Lundy is appealing for members of the public with first hand experience of the above situations to report it to her Pair Gain Victims website." Information from whirlpool. Way to go Telstra.
