Parhelia stuff: first impressions on Tech-Report, review on HotHardware, a massive flop? from Active-Hardware, Launch Review on NeoSeeker (oddly high benchmarks), review with surround gaming on FlingingSquids, review on AnandTech, german review on 3DCenter, commentary on TheInquirer, John Carmack's comments on Shacknews, german review on Chip.DE, review on TomsHardware.

Seagate have announced their Barracuda V HDD's.. sounds pretty tasty.

Speaking of tasty, Sabretooth spotted a Lamborghini you can make with your printer.

Microsoft has disclosed an ambitious new project to improve security by creating within its Windows software a virtual "vault" where customers would conduct electronic transactions and store sensitive information. The effort, called "Palladium," would require consumers to buy new computers and other devices equipped with ultra-secure computer chips from Intel and Advanced Micro Devices, which already are involved in the project, or other companies. Info here on Wired, here on NewScientist (thanks alx-e) who focus on a different aspect of the project: Future versions of the Windows operating system will be designed to run only digitally signed code, to stop hackers uploading malicious programs and to prevent computer viruses from spreading. PR Newswire comments on Palladium's ability to block spam and says that Microsoft have even revealed the source code to this new system to show they don't have any evil intent. Lindsay sent that last link in and notes I, for one, will use it when SP2 for it has been released. :) More info on MSNBC and InfoWorld.

Bernard says that nvclock is a more mature solution for nVidia video card overclocking under Linux than the, err, other nvclock we linked earlier.

That "unlimited ADSL" we spotted a few days ago has the usual stuff in the fine print, sadly.. This shall be carried out in circumstances where the Customers rate of data usage tends to be within the range (or exceeding) 8-10 times the rolling average monthly rate of all the Provider (not just the Provider) end users for the period of the preceding month blah blah.. bummer. Thanks Shane.

Raz0r notes: AUSTRALIA plans to endorse CD-copying kiosks in a controversial world-first plan that legalises music piracy. I'm sure we heard about this a few months ago but nothing happened.. will be interesting to see if it gets off the ground and how much work it gives the lawyers.

New VIA 4-in-1's (or maybe the same ones as a few days ago).. get 'em here, thanks Scott.

AnandTech have a GF4 Ti4200 roundup posted.. the bottom end of the high end of nVidia video cards, if that makes sense.

Cool Knight-Rider LED Mod on Bit-Tech, thanks SilentSniper.

More weird stuff in the latest issue of ZZZ Online.
