South Australia's new Attorney-General is John Rau, who arrives as part of a larger front bench re-shuffle. According to Chris from gamers4croydon, Mr Rau is a supporter or the R18+ classification for games (and a nice guy, to boot).

Meanwhile the internet censorship submissions received by the Government have roundly attacked the idea. But many reiterated their concerns that the policy is fundamentally unsound and would do little to make the internet a safer place for children. Many said the scope of blocked content was too broad and would render legitimate sites inaccessible, while the process of adding sites to the blacklist could be subject to abuse by bureaucrats and politicians.

The Scotsman noticed this texting world record set by Samsung and Swype. Using the official phrase of the Guinness World Records® for records related to text messaging, “The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human,” Franklin Page, a recent employee of Swype and resident of Seattle, WA successfully texted the phrase in 35.54 seconds using Swype technology.

There's a new DirectX 11 benchmark, Unigine Heaven 2.0. Both crafts are developed for Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic by Burt Rutan and team at Mojave-based Scaled Composites.

YouTube now recieves 24h of video uploaded every minute. In May of last year, we announced 20 hours of video were uploaded to YouTube every minute. Much to nobody's surprise, China is reacting strongly to Google's uncensored search results by breaking ties. Similarly, China’s second-largest mobile company, China Unicom, was said by analysts and others to have delayed or scrapped the imminent introduction of a cellphone based on Google’s Android platform. One popular Web portal, Tom.com, already ceased using Google to power its search engine. The company is controlled by Li Ka-shing, the Hong Kong billionaire who has close ties to the Chinese government.
