FutureMark have released a very nice DirectX 11 "Deep Sea" Demo. Deep Sea is a demonstration of DirectX 11 technologies created using an early development build of the 3DMark 11 engine. 3DMark 11 will be released in the third quarter of 2010. There will be a free edition that allows unlimited runs available at launch.

If you think the Moon rocks, you might want to join the MoonZoo project, thanks Dopefish. Enter Oxford astrophysicist Chris Lintott. He's asking amateur astronomers to help review, measure and classify tens of thousands of moon photos streaming to Earth. He has set up the website MoonZoo.org, where anyone can log on, get trained and become a space explorer.

Speaking of amateur astronomers, some say the recent mystery USAF shuttle launched last month has an orbit suitable for launching spy satellites. On Friday, US Air Force spokesman Gary E. Payton - who on launch day admitted he had "no idea" when the X37-B would land again - emphasised its "non-offensive" capabilities. “The program supports technology risk reduction, experimentation and operational concept development,” he said.

Mark Zuckerberg has responded to privacy concerns on Facebook, thanks Paul. Facebook has been growing quickly. It has become a community of more than 400 million people in just a few years. It's a challenge to keep that many people satisfied over time, so we move quickly to serve that community with new ways to connect with the social Web and each other. Sometimes we move too fast -- and after listening to recent concerns, we're responding.

TechARP explore Win7 SSD Performance. Microsoft Windows 7 is the first Windows operating system to include native support for solid state drives (SSDs). Its SSD-specific optimizations make Windows 7 the best operating system for solid state drives. But just how much of a boost in SSD performance can we expect from upgrading to Windows 7? That's exactly what we intend to find out.

Back to the space theme, with a time-lapse shuttle assembly and launch video from Tzorst. The result, produced in collaboration with Andrews’ son Philip (a photojournalist himself), is a stunning, one-of-a-kind, four-minute chronicle of Discovery’s trip from the Orbiter Processing Facility to the pad, beginning with the "rollover" to the Vehicle Assembly Building on February 22 and ending with the STS-131 launch on April 5.

The war of words between Senator Conroy and Google continues. While Google has declined repeated requests for an interview, in a statement a spokeswoman said the company was surprised to hear criticism about Facebook and Google's privacy record in a hearing supposed to be focused on the Government's proposed internet filters.
