If you got a cheap USB combo hard drive thingy from Aldi recently, that might not be all you've picked up. ALDI external hard drives available for sale as part of its "special buys" purchases have been found to contain a computer virus. The Fission External 4-in-1 hard drive, DVD, USB and card reader device was withdrawn from sale this morning.

Meanwhile there's some increased fees for eBay on the way for Australian users. eBay Australia has revealed plans to more than double its fees on some auction listings, effectively penalising non-professional sellers. The days of eBay as largely an online garage sale are finished as the company pushes sellers away from second-hand auctions towards listing new items in the fixed price format and on eBay Stores. And I hate it. I miss the days of it being a big garage sale, instead of being filled with a zillion cheap plastic things from HK.

SpaceX are aiming to be the first private corporation to dock with the International Space Station. SpaceX intends to combine its second and third test flights with a single mission, scheduled to launch November 30 from Cape Canaveral, Florida, Garrett Reisman, a former astronaut now working with SpaceX, said at the NewSpace 2011 conference that was held at NASA's Ames Research Center in California and broadcast on the Internet. "The next flight of the Dragon we're going to go all the way and berth it to the space station, drop cargo off and bring stuff back," Reisman said.
