Australia's biggest software company MYOB has sold for $1.2B to a company based in Boston. MYOB was owned by a consortium including Australian investment firm Archer Capital and US HarbourVest Partners. They paid about $450 million in 2009. Vortez have a silent watercooling shootout. As the heat can be transferred away from the source (in the coolant), you can massively increase the surface area with which you transfer the heat to the air. Instead of being limited to a cooler that can only hold one or two 120mm fans, you can use a radiator that holds pretty much as many as you desire, and even then you can use more than one radiator. This massive increase in heat transferring surface area allows you to dramatically reduce the speed of the fans used, or even remove them entirely – reducing the noise of the system enormously.

Rumours of an Android port underway have fuelled further interest. Harvey Norman sold out of its 6000 units of the newly discontinued TouchPad tablet within an hour of HP announcing a fire sale that saw its price slashed to $99. Considering the device first went on sale last Monday from $499 it has become one of the most short-lived and heavily discounted technology products in history.
