The latest GPU in NVIDIA's GeForce 6 lineup is due for official release during QuakeCon this weekend. We've received a marketing PDF slideshow which gives an overview of the features and specs of the new GPU. Hopefully this will whet your appetite before the inevitable rush of reviews over the weekend.
It's a 23-page PDF about 4.2MB in size and you can download it here. Webmasters: please link to this page, not the file directly.
In case you don't want to download the file, or while you're waiting, here's a few tidbits:

The GeForce 6600 is a mid-range GPU which "brings 6800 features to the mainstream" and is aimed squarely at ATI's X600XT. NVIDIA are promoting it as "the DOOM3 GPU" and "The ultimate card for DOOM3" which is a nice change from the constant "must have top-end card to enjoy Doom3" press we've been seeing lately.

Note that both versions are on PCI-Express, while the 6600GT is SLi Enabled, meaning you can run two cards in one machine for added performance. Shader Model 3.0 features on both cards of course, NVIDIA continuing to hold that over ATI. Interestingly, both cards are listed as 128-bit memory interface, while previous chatter/rumour has had them as 256-bit.

The document also shows some of the video-acceleration features of the GPU. The pics above probably aren't too interesting unless you view the "without our tech" pics in the document. :)
Again, it's a 23-page PDF about 4.2MB in size and you can download it here. Webmasters: please link to this page, not the file directly.
