Guys ... Seems we can get Optus@home come the 4th of next :D
Question is this .. There are 2 different modems supplied by Optus right ? (USB and whatever else) .... I have been told that the USB modem is a pain in the ass to share and with whatever the other one is it becomes much easier.
The plan is to run a server via a network switch and 2 PC`s off that switch. Any and all advice welcome here as im confused all to hell here
Regards and thanks in advance

umm.. i do beleive that the modem will have coax/ethernet connectors on it, and not a usb connector in sight.
the one that was supplied to be about 4-5 months ago was a motorolla sb3100 surfboard, and i havnt had any problems with it - as you should.
as for the network card, the tech will automatically install the usb nic. dosnt involve using a screwdriver for a start, and much easier to configure and all that jazz. anyway, ONCE it's all up and running with the usb nic point out to him that you're buying more usb devices in the future - that you sometimes use linux on this computer and it dosnt support usb - something/anything that prevents u from using the usb nic. he'll probably go out to his truck and get u a pci nic, and you'll score one for free. thats what i did *waves free nic around*
cant complain about the price.
