Noise and Temperature Results:
Noise measurements were taken with a digital sound meter approximately 3cm away from the video card fan, reducing the ability of other components such as the CPU or PSU fans to interfere with the final results. Software used for stressing was 3DMark Vantage, looped until the sound level was stable and stopped rising.

Temperature readings were taken at an ambient temperature of approximately 22 degrees Celsius, on a open test bench with the fan set to auto. Load and idle temperatures were monitored by MSI's Afterburner utility. Software used for stressing was 3DMark Vantage, looped until the temperature was stable and stopped rising.

Conclusions:
VTX3D's HD 6790 performed respectably during the noise and temperature testing, maintaining good load noise and temperature levels thanks to the cooling sytem. Overclocking allowed us to further improve its gaming performance by pushing the core to 960 MHz and memory to 2360 MHz (4720 MHz effective) significantly boosting its performance over a GTX 550 Ti, which can be found priced between $10-20 dollars more (pending on brand and overclock), making the HD 6790 a cheaper and more capable alternative to the GTX 550 Ti, which is especially critical in such an overcrowded price segment.
Overall we were quite impressed with the amount of performance is available from a sub $150 video card in today's market. Even though our range of tests is fairly heavy on quality settings that most users of this card may not enable, we still found the HD 6790 was able to provide more than playable performance. The VTX3D Radeon HD 6790 1GB is currently available for purchase in Australia, and comes with a 2-year warranty.
