A few years back I sent in the pics of a dual G4 1GHz. Now I have for you its bigger brother, well the brains of it's bigger brother anyway. The dual G5 2.5Ghz PowerMac is cooled by a liquid cooling system that is extremely quiet and effective. Mac OS X controls the flow of the fluid and the speed of the fans.
As you can see by the dollar coin at the front of this unit, the cooling system is big.
This is the bottom of the cooling unit. As you can see there are 2 monster 2.5GHz G5’s under that baby with 2 copper blocks covering the CPU cores.
You can see the pump in the bottom right hand corner of the cooling unit (the black box). You can also see the top of one of the cooling plates that cover the CPU core. This is the item with the 4 heat stacks surrounding the liquid pipe that runs to the centre of the heat plate.
A nice side shot of the radiator.
Front end shot of the pump.
Last of all, we have the rear of the cooling unit that shows both the radiator and the rear cooling fins. So there you go. As for how the computer performs..... Only one word can describe it.... WOW!
