Noise and Temperature Results:
Noise measurements were taken with a digital sound meter approximately 3cm away from the video card fan, reducing the ability of other components such as the CPU or PSU fans to interfering with the final results. Software used for stressing was 3D Mark Vantage, looped until the sound level was stable and stopped rising.

Temperature readings were taken at an ambient temperature of approximately 22 degrees Celsius, on a open test bench and with the fan set to auto. Load and idle temperatures were monitored by MSI's Afterburner utility. Software used for stressing was 3D Mark Vantage, looped until the temperate was stable and stopped rising.

Looking at the above temperatures the difference is quite minor, but what we need to remember the HAWK is clocked higher by default and the cooler is significantly beefier than the Cyclone. To show the real capabilities of each cooling system we take a look at core temperatures when overclocked and with voltages increased.

The Cyclone is another great addition to MSI's line-up of GTX 460 1GB cards. And like with the HAWK, we weren't left disappointed, but thoroughly impressed with the clocks achievable with just a bump in voltage, and the build quality presented.

All in all MSI incorporates a well tuned cooling design and ample overclocking room right out of the box with this overclocked Cyclone Edition. Pending on the prices in your state and budget, it might be worth spending a bit more for the HAWK edition which includes a more beefy cooler and higher clocks by default - but either card is sure to satisfy today's gaming requirements.
