Noise and Temperature Results:
Noise measurements were taken with a digital sound meter approximately 3cm away from the video card fan, reducing the ability of other components such as the CPU or PSU fans to interfere with the final results. Software used for stressing was 3D Mark Vantage, looped until the sound level was stable and stopped rising.
Temperature readings were taken at an ambient temperature of approximately 22 degrees Celsius, on an open test bench and with the fan set to auto. This card is a well executed package from ZOTAC. It's nice to see a company making an effort to include discounts and free games for their users rather than a empty shoebox. Not only is the bundle great, but ZOTAC's GeForce GTX 580 AMP! is one of the fastest air cooled GTX 580's on the market today. It maintains NVIDIA's reference cooling characteristics and improves on a already fast product, extending its lead over the competition once again. While such a card does come at a premium price, gamers and enthusiasts will find it hard to ignore its raw performance numbers and ample overclocking headroom.
