Synthetic Benchmarks, Heat & Noise, Conclusions

Synthetic Benchmarks:
Benchmark: 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark 11
Score: GPU/Graphics Score Only - Higher is Better.

Benchmark: Unigine Heaven Benchmark
Score: Average Frames per Second (FPS) - Higher is Better.

Noise and Temperature Results:
Noise measurements were taken with a digital sound meter approximately 3cm away from the video card fans, reducing the ability of other components such as the CPU or PSU fans to interfere with the final results. Software used for stressing was 3DMark Vantage, looped until the sound level was stable and stopped rising.

Temperature readings were taken at an ambient temperature of approximately 22 degrees Celsius, on a open test bench with the fan set to auto. Load and idle temperatures were monitored by MSI's Afterburner utility. Software used for stressing was 3DMark Vantage, looped until the temperature was stable and stopped rising.

Conclusions:
The ASUS GTX 560 DirectCU II TOP offers a well tuned set of features right out of the box, and some of the highest factory shipped clocks available on the market today. During testing it offered similar, if not better performance than a vanilla GTX 560 Ti thanks to the high core and memory clocks it shipped with. Further improving it performance and value, we overclocked the card pushing its core to impressive 1010 MHz and memory to 2425 MHz (4850 MHz effective) with still room to breathe. Not only that, but ASUS made sure it looked good in windowed cases while achieving such impressive clocks speeds; maintaining a consistent black and red theme throughout its design from the PCB, cooling and additional decals was the icing on a already rich cake.

One thing that has been missing from our previous reviews was the inclusion of temperatures and noise levels of the video cards cooling system once overclocked. Today we have included these results, and we can safely say the GTX 560 DirectCU II TOP passed with flying colours, maintaining respectable noise levels and stable temperatures during our range of testing, mainly due to the DirectCU II cooler implementation that has had so much success since its arrival. The ASUS GTX 560 DirectCU II TOP is currently available for purchase in Australia, and comes with a 3-year warranty.
