Intel and NVIDIA have announced a new partnership, with NVIDIA investing $5B in Intel stock. The companies will focus on seamlessly connecting NVIDIA and Intel architectures using NVIDIA NVLink – integrating the strengths of NVIDIA’s AI and accelerated computing with Intel’s leading CPU technologies and x86 ecosystem to deliver cutting-edge solutions for customers. With Intel's financial woes and NVIDIA's incredible growth, could this be the first step of an acquisition/merger like we saw with AMD and ATI? Discussion here.
Old news, but Seagate have uncovered a counterfeit hard drive workshop. During the raid, authorities reportedly uncovered approximately 700 counterfeit Seagate hard drives, with SMART values that had been reset to facilitate their sale as new. The confiscated batch included several models from Seagate's extensive hard drive range, with capacities reaching up to 18TB. However, Seagate-branded drives were not the only items involved, as authorities also discovered drives from Kioxia and Western Digital.
Also old, this MOS 6502 CPU unboxing. Back in 1975, you could order a boxed 6502 CPU directly from MOS in Norristown, PA. Here are some high-res photos of such a box and its contents.
TechPowerUp compared 30 GPUs in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Konami, in collaboration with Virtuos, has built Metal Gear Solid Delta on Unreal Engine 5, replacing the Fox Engine used in earlier versions. This modern engine allows for vast environmental detail and improved character realism, with persistent wounds, dirt, and camouflage effects. The remake also features greatly improved facial animation, cinematic lighting through UE5's Lumen technology, and enhanced physics. The game has support for upscaling technologies like NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR, but there is no frame generation support.
Social media will soon require age verification in Australia. Australia urged social media platforms to employ "minimally invasive" methods to check the age of users covered by its world-first teen social media ban, including account artificial intelligence (AI) and behavioural data. Still not entirely sure if/how this applies to OCAU.

RELEASE 25-060
SEPT. 9, 2025
MISSIONS
Launch Your Name Around Moon in 2026 on NASA’s Artemis II Mission

Boarding passes will carry participants' names on NASA's Artemis II mission in 2026.
Credit: NASA
NASA is inviting the public to join the agency’s Artemis II test flight as four astronauts venture around the Moon and back to test systems and hardware needed for deep space exploration. As part of the agency’s “Send Your Name with Artemis II” effort, anyone can claim their spot by signing up before Jan. 21.
Participants will launch their name aboard the Orion spacecraft and SLS (Space Launch System) rocket alongside NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Jeremy Hansen.
“Artemis II is a key test flight in our effort to return humans to the Moon’s surface and build toward future missions to Mars, and it’s also an opportunity to inspire people across the globe and to give them an opportunity to follow along as we lead the way in human exploration deeper into space,” said Lori Glaze, acting associate administrator, Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington.
The collected names will be put on an SD card loaded aboard Orion before launch. In return, participants can download a boarding pass with their name on it as a collectable.
To add your name and receive an English-language boarding pass, visit:
https://go.nasa.gov/artemisnames
To add your name and receive a Spanish-language boarding pass, visit:

As part of a Golden Age of innovation and exploration, the approximately 10-day Artemis II test flight, launching no later than April 2026, is the first crewed flight under NASA’s Artemis campaign. It is another step toward new U.S.-crewed missions on the Moon’s surface that will help the agency prepare to send the first astronauts – Americans – to Mars.
